Twinsburg Historical Society and Museum

I was born and raised in Twinsburg. Went to school here. Graduated from R.B. Chamberlin High School in 1979. After High School I attended a Computer Programming school, ICM, in downtown Cleveland. I have an Associate Degree in Specialized Business in Data Processing.

Gayle and I married in 1982. Raised 2 great kids, Bobby and Lisa. We have a daughter-in-law Samantha who has seamlessly become one of the family.

I started out working for a company called Bowes Manufacturing, doing their inventory. That expanded over the years to include IT Manager, Computer Programmer, Production Manager and Purchasing Manager. I wore many hats all at the same time. Did that for 12 years.

One day, Will Adams approached me and twisted my arm to join the Twinsburg Fire Department. 3yrs after becoming a Paid-on-Call member, I took the fulltime test. Finished 3rd. The first 2 already had great jobs so for the next 25-1/2 yrs. I was a Fulltime Firefighter/Paramedic for the City of Twinsburg. Retired from the TFD in March of 2018.

I am amazed at how the city has grown over the years. Not always happy at the growth due to the destruction of so many older century homes and the disregard for the cities past.

In high school I hated history. Despised it. But once I graduated, I couldn’t get enough of it. I am always watching stuff on the History Channel (just ask Gayle).

We need to maintain our history. We need to make sure the next generation knows where and how Twinsburg came about and how and why things have changed over the years.
